Training

The better trained the parents and leaders are, the more the youth benefit from their Scouting experience!

It is our goal that all parents/guardians of our Cubbies take the free Youth Protection training online. It will help you understand everything that the registered volunteers do to keep your Cub Scout safe. At the end, you can print a certificate. Be sure to print enough copies of the certificate to be able to share with the Pack Committee member in charge of training.

It is required that all registered volunteers–Den Leaders, Cubmasters and Assistant Cubmaster, and Pack Committee members–take the Youth Protection training every year.

There are many free online trainings for people curious about the principles of Scouting and how a Cub Pack is run. All you need is a user ID that you create the first time you take a training online. Relevant courses can be found under the General and Cub Scout tabs.

In addition, the Susquehanna Council, BSA runs low-cost in-person training courses all year round, such as BALOO for Cub outdoor program leaders and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills for Scouts BSA.
