Cub Scout Pack 3610 (continuously chartered since 1953) meets from 6 to 7 p.m., on Mondays during the Warrior Run School District calendar year. This is a “family pack,” meaning both boys and girls may join as Cub Scouts, and we welcome parent involvement. If there is no school, there is no Pack meeting that night. The meetings are held in the basement of Trinity United Church of Christ, 602 Main Street, Watsontown, PA 17777. The outside basement door faces Sixth Street. Anyone may visit a meeting!
Scouts BSA Troop 610B (the boys’ troop since 1946) and Troop 610G (the girls’ troop since 2022) meet together from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays all year round (with some exceptions for holidays, etc.) The meetings are held in the Trinity United Church of Christ fellowship hall, entering the door that faces Sixth Street. The meetings are open to anyone! UPDATE: The Scout Troops are going to experiment with meeting on Sunday evenings from Sept. 11, 2022 through the fall sports season to accommodate the majority of members who are on fall sports teams this year. If you want to visit, please email us at WatsontownTroop610 (at) gmail.com to ensure which day we’ll be meeting.
The Pack and the Troops have very active calendars of trips, outings, camping, and community service. This is shared privately to member families and not here on this site to protect our youth from uninvited guests. All of the adult volunteers have completed Pennsylvania clearances to work with youth and an annual Youth Protection Training.
In 2022, almost half of the youth attended summer camp at Camp Karoondinha. The Pack and Troops went rock climbing, and the Troops performed trail maintenance, went camping almost every month, marched in two parades, and cleaned up the Watsontown Park for each night of the Firemen’s Carnival. Two members of Troop 610B attended the Sea Base High Adventure Center in the Florida Keys, and three are registered for the 2023 National Jamboree!
